Meta is reportedly reviving its smartwatch project — internally called "Malibu 2" — after shelving it back in 2022 during Reality Labs cost cuts, with plans to ship a device featuring Meta AI and health tracking sometime this year. The move signals Meta expanding its wearables strategy beyond the hit Ray-Ban smart glasses and VR headsets into a more competitive category dominated by Apple and Samsung.
